A SEWING firm from Malpas has celebrated 20 years of business.
The Sewing Room, based in Dobson Court, was opened by Gill Valentine in 2000, after she was made redundant from her sample machinist position at Laura Ashley.
A small celebration was held this month to mark the occasion, with visitors enjoying a slice of cake and a glass of champagne.
Gill, who is a city and guilds qualified dress maker, says she has loved every minute of her journey and is looking forward to a few more years doing what she enjoys.
"A massive thank you to everyone that popped in for fizz and cake to celebrate 20 years for The Sewing Room," said Gill. "It was lovely to see so many pop in.
"Thank you for all the cards and gifts.
"As one door shut another opened and I have never looked back and enjoyed every minute of it.
"I couldn't have done this without the support of my lovely family and I have made some lovely life-long friends as well."
