ALMOST 30 flood warnings and alerts are in force across Dorset today as more heavy rain hits the county.
The Environment Agency has a total of nine flood warnings in force and 20 flood alerts.
Areas at risk of possible flooding include Corfe Castle and Swanage areas where there is a flood alert in force.
The Environment Agency said: “River levels have risen at the Swanage Prospect Farm FAS Swan Brook river gauge as a result of persistent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible. We believe there is a possibility of flooding for the Corfe Castle and Swanage areas.”
A spokesperson added: “Further rainfall is forecast over the next 12 hours. We expect river levels to remain high for the coming days. We are closely monitoring the situation. Please stay aware in case further warnings are issued and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers which may be flooded.”
