In a difficult time for many, Citizens Advice Purbeck have put into place special measures so that local people can continue to get help during the coronavirus crisis.

The local charity’s trained advisers continue to be available on the phone or via email for those who need help.

Anyone living in Purbeck can contact the charity on 01929 551913 at any time and leave a message with their details. Alternatively, an online form is available at www.purbeckadvice.org.uk/contact-us.

A large team of trained advisers are then on hand to call or email you back within 2 working days, or quicker wherever possible.

Information and advice from the charity is free and confidential, covering a very wide range of topics. Last year Citizens Advice Purbeck helped 1400 people with issues relating to money and debt, benefits, work, housing, consumer issues and more.

Many people will be able to find answers themselves through the national Citizens Advice website, www.citizensadvice.org.uk, which includes a new section on issues raised by the Coronavirus crisis.

Helen Goldsack, Chief Officer at Citizens Advice Purbeck, said: “Problems don’t go away just because there is a lockdown. Indeed, this situation also raises more issues and worries for many.

“It is important that anyone who is worried about a problem gets the help they need, and gets it now. There is clear evidence that resolving problems is good for health and wellbeing, reducing stress, anxiety and depression.

“Citizens Advice offers free advice that is tailored to a client’s needs. Don’t hesitate to contact us if you think we can help.”
