FROM the very first day of the coronavirus pandemic, the single most quoted piece of advice from the government has been “wash your hands very frequently.”

This is easy enough in your own home, but venturing out and risking contacting the virus, what happens? The council has “weaponised” the public toilets, giving us no opportunity whatever to wash our hands, let alone use the facilities for the purpose intended.

Every garden centre and shop I have visited is the same – boarded up toilets. Can someone in authority explain how we are supposed to keep the virus off our hands?

Going out for a day’s shopping in future seems to pose very real problems of dealing with nature and doing our best to stay healthy by frequent hand washing.
