A TIRED and emotional paddleboarder was rescued by Swanage lifeboat crews who were also helping a kayaker in difficulty and a capsized catamaran.

Both the inshore and all-weather lifeboats were launched to help with a series of incidents yesterday afternoon.

The paddleboarder was making no progress against a brisk offshore wind and appeared to be struggling in Swanage Bay.

The woman and her board were brought aboard the lifeboat and she was wrapped in a blanket and returned to the shore.

The catamaran, near Old Harry Rocks, had managed to right itself and the kayaker in difficulties in Studland Bay had been taken to the shore by the crew of a passing boat.
