A BOY was picked up by the waist and had his hoverboard stolen from him during a "distressing and upsetting" robbery in Swanage.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident, which took place last weekend.

The victim, a 12-year-old boy, and his older brother were riding along the seafront on their hoverboards when they were approached by two unknown men who asked to have a go.

The brothers said no and left, however, around three to five minutes later the victim saw the same men in Institute Road.

It is reported that one of the men, who was wearing a grey hooded top, picked the victim up around the waist and stole the hoverboard.

PC Charlotte Curry, of Poole police, said: “This was a distressing and upsetting incident for the victim and his brother.

"As part of our investigations I have obtained a CCTV image of the two suspects and I would urge anyone who recognises them to please contact Dorset Police.”
