COASTGUARDS and ambulance staff were called to Durdle Door to assist in removing a teenage girl who had fallen down the steps at Man o’ War Cove, suffering a dislocated hip.

Lulworth Coastguard Rescue Team were contacted on Saturday afternoon after South Western Ambulance requested help in carrying the injured girl up the steps by stretcher.

Assisted by Lulworth Rangers and paramedics the team carried the girl up to the top of the steps and into the back of a waiting 4x4 provided by UDL Security LTD.

A spokesman from Lulworth Coastguard Rescue Team said: “The team were paged at 5.34pm this afternoon after South Western Ambulance requested help with an extraction of a casualty on the Man o’ War steps.

“The team arrived to find the teenage girl in the care of the paramedics and quickly rigged their stretcher to assist with extraction.

“The girl had suffered a suspected dislocated hip and was carefully placed onto the stretcher.”
