A PERSON suffered a possible dislocated shoulder after being hit by a wave at Durdle Door.

Lulworth, Kimmeridge and Wyke Coastguard Rescue Teams were called to the Purbeck area shortly after 7pm on Thursday.

They were supported by the senior coastal operations officer, who was in attendance to oversee and assist.

The Kimmeridge team, along with a member of the Lulworth unit, was deployed to the person who had been "slammed by a wave" while other crew members dealt with a separate incident nearby.

The casualty's arm was strapped up and they were taken to hospital.
