A SPEEDING driver was enlightened by police after declaring he didn't know what happened to people driving over the limit.
He was caught by Dorset Police's dedicated No Excuse Team.
A spokesman said: "A Ford Focus was recorded at 88mph on the Dorset Way in a 50 zone.
"The driver was rushing to visit a friend and didn't understand the process as he'd never been caught speeding before.
"He knows the process now after being reported to court.
"Early in the shift we also stopped a motorbike as it's number plate was small, after we recorded him at 40MPH in a thirty. No Excuse
"We also stopped a Vauxhall van at 47mph in a 30 zone, the driver was rushing home to eat his takeaway. A Porsche Macan was recorded at 42mph in a 30 zone, again rushing home."
