A MAN who sustained serious injuries following a serious collision has died.

Dorset Police received a report at 3.39pm on Saturday, September 26, that a yellow Alfa Romeo Spider had collided with a gate at the entrance to the Dudsbury Golf Club off the B3073 Christchurch Road.

A sspokesman for Dorset Police said: "Officers attended, along with the ambulance service, and a man aged in his 70s from Ferndown was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

"Very sadly, he died from his injuries on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 30.

"His family are aware and the coroner has been notified."

Sergeant Lee Savage, of the traffic unit, added: “Our thoughts are very much with the man’s family and loved ones at this very difficult time.

“Enquiries into this collision remain ongoing and I would appeal to any witnesses who have not yet spoken to officers to please contact Dorset Police.

“I would also ask anyone who was travelling in the area at the relevant time and has dashcam fitted to their vehicle to please check their footage for anything that might assist our investigation.”
