THE BOURNE Academy becomes the latest schools in Bournemouth to record a confirmed case of coronavirus.
Close contacts have been informed to self-isolate for 14 days.
Half a dozen schools across the conurbation are believed to have pupils self-isolating due to to the virus.
A statement on the BCP Counil website says: “We are aware of a confirmed case of Covid-19 at The Bourne Academy in Bournemouth.
“The school are working closely with Public Health Dorset, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council and Public Health England South West to ensure that all necessary measures are being met.
“All close contacts of the confirmed cases have been notified and advised to self-isolate for 14 days.
“Contacts of the confirmed case should get tested if they go on to develop symptoms. Even if people test negative, they must still self-isolate for 14 days.”
Other schools across the Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch area currently affected by self-isolation include St Aldhelm's Academy, St Katharine's, Hill View, Corpus Christi and the Queens Park Infant Academy.
