BOSCOMBE Conservative Club has closed for a deep clean after staff members were told to self-isolate.

The site is currently closed and will remain so until the isolation period for all staff and members has expired.

The club said the cleaning will take place once the isolation period has been completed.

A statement posted on the club's Facebook page says: "We’ve now been contacted by the council/environmental health department and have all the information required to disinfect/deep clean thoroughly throughout the club.

"Of course this won’t take place until after the isolation period has expired because those having to isolate includes all members of staff. Once that’s done we’ll be free to open again."

As of yet, the club does not know when it will reopen.

This comes after an increase in coronavirus cases in Dorset.

Over the seven-day period from September 28 to October 4, the BCP Council area recorded 265 cases and the Dorset Council area recorded 93 cases.

These figures increased from 78 and 29, respectively, for the previous week.
