A man has been injured in a crash on the A35 in west Dorset.

Police are now appealing for for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward following the two-car collision near the Charmouth roundabout this morning.

Dorset Police received a report at 9.32am today of a collision involving a blue Peugeot 307 and a black Volvo V60 on the A35 at Charmouth near to the junction with the A3052.

The driver of the Volvo – a man aged in his 60s from Bedfordshire – sustained minor injuries and was taken to Dorset County Hospital for treatment.

The Peugeot driver – a woman aged in her 50s from Devon – was uninjured.

The road was closed to allow emergency services to deal with the incident.

It reopened at around 11.30am.

PC Duncan Roberts, of the traffic unit, said: “We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding this collision and I would urge any witnesses to please get in touch.

“I am also keen to speak to any motorists who were travelling in the area and may have captured any relevant dashcam footage.

“Finally, I would like to thank motorists for their patience and understanding while the road closures were in place."
