POLICE are making enquiries after a dog was reportedly hit by a car on Portland Beach Road.
A passing police car was in the area at the time, on Saturday morning, and the dog has been taken to a vet.
Police said they are now making enquiries about the incident.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "We got a call at 9.26am by a passing officer who found a dog with a possible broken leg.
"There are enquiries ongoing and we believe it was the result of a vehicle hitting it.
"The dog is now with a vet and being treated for its injuries, but is alive and well."
