A BRAND new Christmas event is set to bring Christmas cheer to Dorset this festive season.

Nutley Farm near Winfrith Newburgh is hosting a Christmas Lights & Reindeer Experience from November 22 to January 2.

This Christmas event promises an illuminated walking trail, friendly reindeer and, of course, Father Christmas.

It will be suitable for all ages and offer a daytime and evening option for visitors.

During the Christmas Lights & Reindeer Experience, visitors can enjoy a sparkling stroll along a 600m illuminated walkway, passing through glittering archways and gazing at the twinkling trees and light installations along the way, organisers say.

Reindeer Rudolph and Prancer will be there to greet guests, who can treat themselves to a warming spiced cider, mulled wine or hot chocolate.

This is an evening event planned which is to be open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday, between 4pm–10pm each day.

The event will cost £10 per adult and £5 per child, aged three and over.

Event organiser Julian Hubbuck said: “With many events being cancelled, we wanted to bring some festive cheer in the run up to Christmas.

"So, we got imaginative and have created something special with an illuminated walk, reindeers and even Father Christmas himself all under the stars.”

The second experience on offer for visitors is the Father Christmas & Reindeer Experience.

This daytime event enables children to meet Father Christmas and his reindeer as he prepares them for the job of travelling the world on Christmas Eve.

Each child will have the opportunity to tell Father Christmas about their wishes, receive a small gift, have their picture taken with him on the sleigh and put a letter in his personal post-box for him to take back to the North Pole.

This event is open between 10am to 3.30pm on December 5, 6, 12 and 13 and then every day from December 14 to 24.

It costs £9 per child and adults go free.

Julian added: “We are working incredibly hard to make this event happen in a safe and Covid secure way.

"It’s all possible because it’s outside on our family farm, so we’re able to spread out the bookings and give plenty of time and space for each group to make their way around the event safely.”
