THE driver of a large white lorry is being sought after 'substantial damage' was caused to a railing which was knocked into a river in Netherbury.

Bridport police said at about 2.45pm on Wednesday, October 7 damage was caused to the railings near to the bridge opposite the junction with Drury Lane, and Bridge Street.

A spokesman said: "A large white coloured curtain sided vehicle backed into the bridge and knocked the railing off into the river causing substantial damage.

"We are appealing for anyone who may have seen this incident or for anyone who may have had a delivery at that time from a large lorry in the Netherbury area and any CCTV/doorbell footage from that area to contact them."
