IT is not everyday you pull over a car worth the same as the average UK house - but that's exactly what happened to police earlier today.

The Ferrari sports car, worth around £230,000, was stopped in Poole for having no front number plate.

Number plates for your everyday road cars start at £16 each.

The owner of the Ferrari Speciale was apparently on his way to his holiday home at Sandbanks.

Police say the driver told them there was nowhere to fit the front plate, and that is didn't look good either so he hadn't bothered.

A spokesman for Dorset Police's No Excuse team said: "Fixed penalty issued, words of advice given and he promised to get one fitted."

I wonder if he will have trouble paying the fine?
