EMERGENCY services are attending a house fire in Parker Road, Bournemouth.

The road has been cordoned off by police to allow firefighters to work.

Neighbours say the fire appears to have been contained.

A spokesman for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service (DWFRS) said: "We are currently at a domestic property fire in Parker Road, Bournemouth.

"We have six fire engines and one aerial ladder platform at the scene. These are from Westbourne, Poole, Springbourne, Redhill and Christchurch."

DWFRS says the call came in at 2.45pm and that four breathing apparatus wearers, two hose reel jets and one main line were used to put out the fire.

The fire service spokesman added: "This is an ongoing incident so at this time we do not have a casue, but we can confirm all occupants of the property evacuated in time."
