A MAN needed hospital treatment for a fractured eye socket after a town centre attack in broad daylight.

The victim, a local man in his 40s, was punched in the face by an unknown man outside Beales, Old Christchurch Road.

Detectives have launched an investigation into the assault, which took place at 4.20pm on Saturday, October 10.

Now they have released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.

Detective Constable Jo Paultney, of Bournemouth CID, said: "Our investigations into the circumstances leading to this incident remain ongoing.

"As part of our enquiries I have obtained a CCTV image and I would urge anyone who knows who he is to please contact Dorset Police.
