A HARBOURSIDE restaurant in Weymouth has unveiled a striking new mural.
Les Enfants Terribles, run by chef Eric Tavernier, now boasts a huge new exterior painting of a mermaid and a pirate.
Eric's wife Joanna said: ""Before we moved here we were trying to figure out how to rework the name of the restaurant Les Enfants Terribles - which doesn't literally mean the terrible children, it actually means terrible grown-ups too, because the idea for the restaurant was somewhere that adults go and let their hair down.
"To incorporate that idea with the sea took me three months until I came up with the idea of a mermaid and a pirate, who are the obvious terrible children of the sea. The mermaid and the pirate represents Eric and I as we are the 'terrible children' of Weymouth Harbour.
"We always hoped that we would be able to settle in to Weymouth and we have been so happy that we can count on so many friends in the town to support us. That's why we think it's well worth us investing a lot of money on a mural that will stand the test of time. Eric actually said he's not going anywhere. He's not leaving until that mural fades."
Chef Eric added: "A massive thank you to Joe Coleman and Josh Monk for making it happen. It's an awesome job.
"A big thank you too to Mike Dench and his team at Matrix Scaffolding for placing the perfect scaffolding - great job guys."
