TWO parents from Wareham have set up a gofundme page to support their son who has undergone nearly ten operations in his three years of life.

Since Ivor Jeffrey was 10 days old, he has spent many days of his life in and out of various hospitals, including Great Ormand Street Hospital.

Now, parents Robert and Toni-Lee Jeffrey hope to make up for lost time through the gofundme page.

Robert said: "The gofundme was originally set up to help us with the costs of living from the hospital, but now it's mainly to give Ivor good days out and to make up for time lost in hospital.

"We'd also like Ivor to keep some of the money for himself as no one knows when he may need it to help with his condition. This is new territory."

Following Ivor’s aortic bypass operation last year, which saw medics relocate his remaining kidney with the aim of improving the blood flow, his health has improved.

Robert said: "After the recovery period, it was like Ivor was reborn. His daily medication reduced to two from eight which has changed our family life a lot. Life is now so much easier than it used to be as Ivor doesn't need to take medication every two hours.

"For the first two years of his life, we had to control his food intake. This will be the first Christmas we can relax and have a proper family Christmas without going to hospital."

Although the cause of Ivor's issues remains unknown, Robert and Toni-Lee hope to enjoy this time with Ivor.
