A FURTHER 115 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch area in the last 24 hours.

The latest data, released on the government website, shows new cases across Dorset area up to just before 4pm on Thursday, October 29.

This means that, since the start of the pandemic, 3,614 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the BCP area, and 799 cases have been reported in the last seven days.

The infection rate per 100,000 of the population stands at 202.1 for the past seven days.

In the Dorset Council area, 41 new cases have been confirmed bringing the total number of people who have tested positive during the pandemic to 1,891.

The infection rate sits at 111.5, with 422 people testing positive for the virus in the past week.

In the New Forest, 28 cases have been confirmed in the last 24 hours bringing the total to 1,116 cases overall, with 188 cases recorded since last Thursday.

The infection rate in the New Forest area stands at 104.4.

This comes as another three people have died after testing positive for Covid-19 at Poole Hospital.

Data released by NHS England shows two deaths occurred on October 28 with another confirmed on October 26.
