THE MINTCAKES had to drop out of the FA trophy earlier this week.

Their removal came after issues were raised by the FA sub-committee regarding the registration of two players.

The side were preparing to play Buxton this weekend following their defeat of Brighouse Town 1-0.

Kendal Town Football Club Management Committee released a statement in response to the removal.

“I can confirm that the FA have removed the club from the Buildbase FA Trophy competition due to late registration of 2 players for the match against Brighouse, who are currently on loan to us.

“The Club has registered a complaint with the FA for the way in which they have dealt with this matter and their tight deadline and costs for an appeal.

“The club has no further comment at this time until the FA have an opportunity to respond to the concerns the club has brought to their attention.”
