MORE than 170 coronavirus cases have been recorded in Dorset over the last 24 hours, latest figures show.

Data released by the government shows 177 people tested positive in the 24 hours leading up to 3pm on Saturday October 31.

122 of these cases came in the BCP Council area, taking the total cases since the start of the pandemic to 3,861.

In the seven days leading up October 26, there were 826 cases recorded in the BCP Council area, giving a rolling rate of 208.9 per 100,000 people.

In the Dorset Council area, 55 people tested positive, taking the total to 2,041.

In the seven days leading up to October 26, 421 cases were confirmed in the Dorset Council area, giving a rolling rate of 111.2 per 100,000 of the population.

Elsewhere, 34 people tested positive in the New Forest, taking the total to 1,167.

191 cases were confirmed in the seven days leading up to October 26, a rolling rate of 106.1 per 100,000.
