A BUSY commuter route has reopened following four days of resurfacing works.
Motorists have experienced delays this week while engineers carried out the work in Poole Road, Branksome, between County Gates roundabout and Pottery Junction at John Lewis.
The resurfacing began on Tuesday, November 24, and was completed on the afternoon of Friday, November 27, following a slight delay.
This was caused by the discovery of some unrecorded utilities equipment.
While the road was closed, traffic was heavy along Lindsay Road, which runs parallel to Poole Road.
BCP Council said the revamped road surface would improve safety, reduce noise and protect against potholes.
To limit the disruption the local authority carried out phased closures so a smaller section of the main road was blocked off at any one time.
