EMERGENCY services were called to a crash in Purbeck which involved a vehicle that had overturned after hitting black ice.

Officers from Purbeck Police reported the incident on the B3351 Corfe to Studland road at around 9pm on Wednesday, February 10.

The crash took place near the turning for Burnbake.

Police urged motorist to consider the treacherous conditions that can be present with ice on untreated roads.

A spokesperson for Purbeck Police said: "A vehicle has hit some black ice and overturned on the Corfe to Studland road near Burnbake.

"Please consider ice if travelling on untreated roads and avoid this area for a while if you have to travel."
