FOR as long as I can remember people have written letters about discarded rubbish (Letters, Feb 13).
Many seem too think that the sole blame for this eyesore lies with the council.
How often do we read of anybody being prosecuted for dropping litter or for letting their dogs foul the footpaths?
The proper culprits.
Try setting up a group to litter pick and you will be met with a tepid response.
The public ask “why are you doing that”?
Seems that they would rather walk around it or over it.
Everybody today, it seems, is blessed with rights and nobody with responsibilities, borne out by the fact that we are surrounded by other people’s rubbish.
