THE Sandbanks Ferry is suspended this afternoon due to a “technical issue”.

Operators of the chairn ferry, which runs between Sandbanks and Studland, said it is not yet known how long services will be suspended.

A message posted on Twitter by Sandbanks Ferry at around 1.20pm reads: “Ferry service suspended to due technical issue, no timescale at the moment. We will update as soon as possible.”

The Morebus 50 service is also affected as a result of the suspension.

Posting on Twitter, Morebus said: “Our Breezer 50 will therefore need to follow the road diversion for the remainder of the day. Longer journey times and significant delays will occur as a result .”
