NEARLY 690,000 doses of the Covid vaccine have been administered in Dorset, latest figures reveal.

Data released by NHS England shows 689,469 jabs have been given across the county.

Of these, 98.1per cent of people over 80 have had at least on jab, and the number of jabs given to people aged 75 to 79 exceeds the latest ONS population stats, meaning the percentage is given as 100.

Of people aged 70 to 74, 97.4 per cent have been jabbed, 93.5 per cent of those aged between 65 and 69 have been jabbed and 98.6 per cent of those between 60 and 64 have had at least one dose.

In the age bracket of 55 to 59, 95.1 per cent have been jabbed, 89.8 per cent of 50 to 54-year-olds have had the vaccine and 79.2 per cent of 45 to 49-year-olds have been jabbed.

Stats also revealed that 53,579 people aged above 80 have had the second dose, while 24,862 of people under 45 have had the second jab.
