VOTING for the new police and crime commissioner had a turn out of less than 28 per cent in the Dorset Council area.

Voting is now complete for the new PCC in the county and the town and parish by-elections, and Dorset Council said counting would start at 10am.

A spokesperson said: “Verification is now complete. We can confirm that there have been 82,668 votes cast for the police and crime commissioner election in the Dorset Council area (27.8% turnout).

“The counting of all the votes, including the town and parish by-elections and neighbourhood referendums, starts at 10am.”
