CORFE Castle battled back from two goals behind to earn a 3-3 draw with neighbours Swanage Town & Herston.

Swans took the lead after eight minutes in the entertaining pre-season friendly at Day’s Park, teenager Spencer Grygiel winning the ball back and teeing up Paul Best to score.

Corfe levelled on the half hour mark through former Swanage man Jacob Harrop, lobbing the advancing goalkeeper Dan Beeston.

But Beeston rescued his side to deny Harrop a second to ensure the game was all-square going into half-time.

Captain Paul Best added his second of the afternoon soon after the restart, firing past Morgan Turner in the Corfe goal.

Charlie Dyke then made it 3-1 to the hosts, with a fine solo run and shot.

But the visitors dug in, pulling a goal back through Jack Goldsack, before equalising with Aaron Merredew on target.

Swans pushed for a winner, with both Ryan Moss and Taylor Hibbs squandering good chances.

Swanage reserves were also in action, beating Purbeck rivals Wareham Rangers reserves 3-1 in a friendly.

Both sides netted inside the opening six minutes - Callum Nattris on target for Swans before Simon Lander equalised.

Sam Peacock fired Swanage in front in the second half and, after weathering some Wareham pressure, the victory was secured thanks to Ollie Smith.
