SWANS returned from Weymouth empty-handed following a 3-1 defeat to Balti Sports in the Dorset Premier League.

The away side had to rely on playing on the break, as the hosts dominated long periods of possession and a mixture of good defending and sharp saves from debutant keeper Smith meant Swans were still in the game.

Peacock and Nixon both went close and Streams hit the bar for the visitors, however Balti deservedly took the lead five minutes before half-time when Liam Taylor headed in at the far post following a corner.

Charlie Brassington levelled for Swans a minute before the interval with a well-struck shot from just outside the box.

The hosts took the lead three minutes after the restart when hesitant defensive play was punished by Che Curran, who scored from close range.

Swans then enjoyed their best spell of play and went close on a couple of occasions through Nixon and Brassington.

Balti secured the points when Taylor capitalised on a defensive error to complete his brace and double his side’s lead with the third goal.

Meanwhile, Swans reserves suffered an 8-1 defeat against Bournemouth Sports reserves at Day's Park in Dorset League Division One.

Swans were 5-0 behind at half-time as the visitors piled on the agony and although Joe Clark reduced the arrears, the visitors scored three more goals to register a big away win.
