SWANAGE Town & Herston suffered a 3-1 defeat to Hamworthy United reserves in the Dorset Premier League at Day’s Park.

The visitors enjoyed the lion's share of possession in the first half and a mixture of poor finishing from the Hammers and good saves from Swans keeper Brad Smith kept the score even.

Jake Streams just failed to reach the ball following a neat pass from Roy Lock resulting in a corner - from which Swans took the lead against the run of play.

Skipper Paul Best pounced following a shot from Tony Parrott that was palmed by the keeper.

But Hamworthy again produced some neat football in the second period.

Smith made a great save to keep the lead intact, however the visitors deservedly equalised when Ethan Quarchioni scored from close range on the hour mark.

Hammers took the lead for the first time when Quarchioni completed his brace and with eight minutes remaining ex-Swan Jim Crossin ran through and slotted past Smith to secure the points and register his side's first league win of the season.

Swans: Smith, Bassett, Dyke, Bartlett, Dunster (Willcocks, 61), Parrott, Clark, Clarke (Grygiel, 68), Streams, Lock (Magnier, 46), P Best.

Elsewhere, Wareham Rangers are still looking for their first league victory of the season after they fell to a 4-1 defeat to Poole Borough at Turlin Moor.

Despite the scores being goalless at the break, Carl Preston, Samuel Lench, Daniele Mirto and Adam Frohlich all found the net for the hosts.
