BOURNEMOUTH University has paid tribute to alumnus Sir David Amess following his death on Friday.
Sir David, Conservative MP for Southend West, was fatally stabbed at a public surgery at Leigh-on-Sea on Friday, October 15.
Police arrested 25-year-old Ali Harbi Ali and he was being held under the Terrorism Act.
Sir David studied at BU where he earned a bachelor's degree in economics and government.
Paying tribute, a spokesperson for BU said: "We are saddened by the death of Sir David Amess MP, a graduate of Bournemouth University and someone who worked hard to support his constituents.
"Our thoughts are with David’s family and friends, and all who knew him.”
