BIDS are being invited for the first phase of a “significant” land development opportunity, including housing, in Dorset.
National property consultancy Carter Jonas, acting on behalf of Welbeck Strategic Land and the landowners, has introduced to the market Ham Farm to the south of Gillingham.
The land, which forms the first phase of a larger consented scheme of 961 units, is part of the Gillingham Strategic Southern Expansion. When complete, the development will also include a local centre with retail, community, health and leisure amenities.
Phase 1A measures approximately 22.07 acres (8.93 ha) and has outline consent for up to 205 units, of which 10 per cent are allocated for affordable housing.
Carter Jonas said: “Gillingham provides a range of facilities and amenities including supermarkets, shops, education and employment.
“With a mainline railway station on the Exeter to London Waterloo line, it provides good transport rail links. The A30 is two miles from Ham Farm and the A303 six miles.”
Steve Morris, partner at Carter Jonas, said: “Ham Farm is set to be a popular new community and the opportunity to purchase this first phase looks likely to attract significant interest.”
Bids are requested by noon on Wednesday November 17, 2021.
