A MAN has been prosecuted for breaking coronavirus rules by being part of an indoor gathering at a Bournemouth student accommodation block during lockdown.
Benjamin Stock, aged 19 and of Lytton Road, Bournemouth, was accused of participating in the indoor gathering at a flat in Bailey Point, Oxford Road, on February 14.
Stock was prosecuted under the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) Regulations and the case was dealt with through the single justice procedure.
A lone magistrate ruled the case against him was proved during a behind closed doors hearing, which the defendant did not attend, on December 1.
Stock was fined £1,100 and ordered to pay a £110 surcharge and £90 costs.
