SWANAGE Town & Herston’s poor run of form continued with a 3-0 loss at Holt United.

It is now four defeats in a row for Swans, who remain 14th in the Dorset Premier League table.

Holt took the lead on 15 minutes at Petersham Lane, Kian Boyd heading in following a corner.

Cody Moore and Charlie Brassington went close to an equaliser, before Holt struck the post and were also denied twice by goalkeeper Ben Hodder as they took their slender lead into the break.

The home side doubled their lead 10 minutes after the restart through George Lane.

Swans’ man-of-the-match Brassington went close to pulling one back from distance, before the win was sealed for Holt from the penalty spot.

Hodder got to Ally Gerrard’s effort from 12 yards, but the linesman confirmed the ball had crossed the line.

Swans: Hodder, Smith, Hibbs, Bartlett, Dyke, Streams, Brassington, Robinson (Bland, 72), Moss, Moore (Lock, 78), Flockton (Magnier, 63).

Elsewhere in the division, Wareham Rangers secured just a third league win of the campaign with a 3-2 victory over Poole Borough.

The game was goalless at half-time at Purbeck Sports Centre, but strikes from Jonathan Dent, James Peters and substitute Tommy Beard deep into stoppage time sealed the points for Tom Birch’s men.

Curtis Harrison and Samuel Lench netted for Poole.

Corfe Castle had no fixture.
