SWANAGE Town & Herston suffered a 4-1 defeat against Holt United at Day's Park in the Dorset Premier League.

Swans produced an inept display and showed little evidence of improving their poor form, against a Holt side who scored two goals in the opening 15 minutes, through Ali Gerard and George Lane.

The Bulls increased their lead on 25 minutes when Gerard completed his brace to put his side in control.

Swans had keeper Ben Hodder to thank following some vital saves but trailed 3-0 at the interval.

The hosts improved a little in the second half, however Ali Gerard completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot to secure the points for the away side.

Swanage’s Sam Beale reduced the arrears following another penalty, but it was too little too late for the disappointing Swans.

Defeat Saw Swans drop to 14th in the league table, with 21 points from 26 games played.

Swans: Hodder, Moss, Bartlett, Chapman, Hibbs, Magnier (Atkinson, 66), D Best, Sparrow, Moore (Lock, 86), Beale, Streams.

Meanwhile, Corfe Castle’s struggles in the division continued after they suffered a 6-3 defeat to Balti Sports. Balti had led 4-0 during the half-time interval at the Fortress.

Corfe have just eight points from 24 games in the division this season.

Second-from-bottom Wareham Rangers suffered a 2-0 defeat to Sherborne Town reserves.
