CHAMPIONS Swanage & Wareham’s ladies first team rounded off their promotion-winning season from the South Central Women’s Division 2 Forest hockey league with another victory.

They scored 45 out of a possible 48 points, losing just one match across the entire campaign.

Swans’ goal difference was a huge 101, scoring 110 and conceding just nine times.

Saturday, however, proved to be one of their toughest games in a 2-0 victory against a well-versed Salisbury side.

Kate Black was once again in fine form and opened the scoring, quickly followed by an assist to Emma Withers.

The visitors were awarded a penalty which was brilliantly saved by the Swans keeper, Leah Rutter.

Captain Jess Hale said: "I'm so proud of how we've played this season, coming back after the COVID disruption and look forward to playing in our new division next year."
