A HOSPICE has brought in new chair beds to allow loved ones to stay the night as part of refurbishments.

Forest Holme Hospice, Poole, have installed new multi-functional chair beds to allow visitors to with their loved ones overnight as part of a larger refurbishment.

The refurb updated the building and helped improve the care the hospice can give to it's 1,500 patients each year.

Kate Bond, Ward Sister at Forest Holme Hospice, said: “It's so important that relatives have the option to be able to stay close to their loved ones here at Forest Holme.

"These chair beds allow relatives to stay at the bedside of their loved one throughout the night in comfort and get some rest. This puts both the patient and relative at ease that they are welcome here at any time day or night.”

The chairs can be easily manoeuvred and pull out into a chaise longue or a full length single bed to give visitors a comfortable place to sit or stay.

The refurb work included installing new integrated hoists, adding more en-suite facilities, updating kitchen and staff rooms etc.

It also included the installation of new automatic entrance doors courtesy of a £10,000 donation from JP Morgan.
