AN ‘absolute legend’ has celebrated 50 years at a GP practice.

Pauline Hallam has been a key member of the administrative team at the Adam Practice in Upton for half a century.

Staff have celebrated her accomplishments while at the practice, describing Pauline as ‘loyal, committed and hardworking’.

Pauline began working in reception, before becoming surgery team leader. She became fully trained in dispensing and helped to run a dispensary at the practice for many year.

Recently, Pauline started working as a purchasing administrator, and is in charge of ordering of products, drugs, needles, dressings and other supplies used across the practice’s five sites.

Pauline said: “It has been my second family, that’s why I’m still here at this age.“

Dr Charlie Powell, GP at the practice, said: “I’ve worked with Pauline for 31 years. She is an absolute legend. I have seen her battling through the snow to get to work, to make sure she is there for our patients.

“She has helped take the practice from a small surgery in Upton, through to our current size, providing a service for many people across Dorset and Poole. She is always working with a smile on her face, and her great Liverpudlian sense of humour.

“Pauline is a real role model for any person starting out in a career in primary care. Thank you for all you have done for the Adam Practice and our patients over the years.”
