A NEW restaurant striving to offer a “top-tier Thai experience” has opened its doors in Westbourne.
The Nusara restaurant, a new venture by Andy Lennox as part of his Fired Up Collective, celebrated its grand opening last weekend.
This latest establishment is the fourth under the Nusara brand, known for its boutique Thai culinary experiences from executive chefs Nusara and Thammanoon.
Located at the former site of Café Rouge, Nusara Westbourne boasts a welcoming courtyard terrace, seating for 120 guests and a cocktail bar.
Mr Lennox said: “Café Rouge was an iconic venue, and it's one that people knew, so we’ve just put our own stamp on it.
“I’m just really happy we’re in Westbourne. We’ll have a great cocktail bar here, and the food is great."
The new Nusara branch aims to deliver "exceptional service, cuisine, and atmosphere, complemented by a vibrant cocktail offering”.
A special launch night for the restaurant was held on Thursday, March 7, and was described as a “success”.
Mr Lennox said: “Everybody was here for the launch. It was very busy.”
The Fired Up Collective was founded by Mr Lennox in 2020, and encompasses an array of dining concepts, including Nusara Thai restaurants and various pub locations.
Mr Lennox said he expresses a particular affinity for Thai cuisine, and has worked hard to establish a Thai dining presence in the area.
The businessman said the launch of Nusara in Westbourne is a “significant milestone” for the collective.
He also described it as a “homecoming”, reflecting on his personal connection to Westbourne and his ambition to introduce a top-tier Thai experience to the area.
Mr Lennox told the Daily Echo: “It’s just nice to be back here, in an iconic venue, in the heart of Westbourne.”
Mr Lennox has now shared plans for Nusara's future, exploring more Dorset acquisitions ahead of a potential national expansion as well as exploring a potential county franchise model.
The new Nusara is located at 67 Seamoor Road in Westbourne.
