A WANTED man is now at large after threatening someone with a firearm in West Howe.
Several undercover armed police cars were seen canvassing the area and speaking to nearby residents.
An altercation broke out between two men which ended up in one of the men being threatened with a firearm.
Officers attended the scene, but the two men were nowhere to be seen.
An investigation has now opened into the incident.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “At around 4pm on Wednesday 13 March 2024, Dorset Police received a report from a man believed to have been threatened by another man in possession of a firearm in the West Howe area of Bournemouth.
“It is believed that the two men are known to each other.
“Armed officers attended the scene and conducted a thorough search of the area, but the offender was not found.
“An investigation is ongoing to locate the man.
“There will be an increased police presence in the area and members of the public are able to raise any concerns with officers.”
