ANOTHER regular display at the Bournemouth Air Festival has pulled out of this year’s three-day event.
The Tigers Army Parachute team will not be attending the air festival because of a “reform of the army parachute display teams” for this year.
It comes after the Red Arrows pulled out of what could be the final air festival because of overseas commitments and the Yakovlevs, which ceased flying last year.
A statement from the team said: “We would like to start by saying thank you for following us and supporting us throughout the years.
“We simply could not do what we do without every single one of you supporting us, so thank you.
“There’s no easy way to say it but The Tigers Army Parachute Display Team will not be displaying due to a reform of the army parachute display teams for 2024/25.
“We simply do not know what the future holds, however we remain positive.”
It added: “We are hopeful to still be competing, maintaining currency and conducting our tandem jumps.”
Bournemouth Air Festival is expected to go ahead for one final time over three days at the end of August.
A slimmer version than usual, BCP Council has said it can only go ahead if £100k is raised by external organisers. The authority will contribute £200k to the festival, knowing it can break even amid financial pressures.
Earlier this month, the Typhoons confirmed in its flight schedule for the year that it will return to BAF.
