ONE of the most famous and prestigious hotels in Bournemouth has welcomed a new management team.

The family-owned Hotel Miramar in East Cliff, Bournemouth will see a new general manager and operations manager take up their posts at the end of the month.

Pat Green will be taking over the reigns as general manager from Theo Iakimov who is moving on to a fresh challenge outside hospitality.

Coming from the Oceana Group where she was group operations manager, she brings a wealth of experience of the local hotel sector.

Her number two will be Poppy Royle who will join the team as operations manager from the popular Balmer Lawn hotel in the New Forest

Poppy will be taking the baton from Marcin Kalinowski who has worked with the team since 2009 and soon will be moving on to a new senior management role in hospitality.

Hotel managing director Clare Blakemore said: “We are genuinely enormously proud of everything that we have achieved as a team over the past few years.

“We are a family run hotel, not a large chain, and teamwork is vital. The hotel has undergone significant refurbishment works, we survived the pandemic, and have continued to provide premium quality for our guests.

“Hotel Miramar enjoys an excellent reputation, and we are excited that Pat and Poppy will be here for the next stage of our journey.”

Approaching the summer season Clare is optimistic about the months ahead.

She added: “We have plans for a new summer menu, have a calendar of live music lined up, and of course summer weddings by the sea.

“We thank Theo and Marcin for all they have achieved and for leaving everything in place for the new management team to hit the ground running.

“I know Pat and Poppy are really looking forward to joining the Miramar team and are eager to meet new and returning guests offering our home from home vibe.”
