THE Mudeford Ferry is not expected to be back in action until June.
The ferry, which operates between Mudeford Quay and the beach at Mudeford Sandbank, has been out of action since November last year.
It was closed following ‘significant damage’ suffered to the pontoon at the harbourside beach of Mudeford Sandbank during Storm Ciara.
In an update given on Thursday, BCP Council confirmed the replacement pontoon has been ordered and is currently being manufactured.
A spokesperson for the local authority said: “We are expecting it to arrive on site during May and, if all goes according to plan, we anticipate the re-opening of ferry services to Mudeford in June.
“We will provide more specific dates as soon as we are able to.”
