THE RNLI has thanked a departing crew member for his '17 years of commitment and dedication’ to saving lives at sea.
Helm Nathan Jauns had his final day at Mudeford Lifeboat Station on Monday, April 1.
Nathan joined the station as a volunteer in 2007 and was recently promoted to the new South-East Regional Lifesaving Lead.
Following this appointment, Nathan made the difficult decision to hang up his dry suit for a new role within the RNLI.
He said: “It’s been an absolute pleasure and an honour being part of the team at Mudeford RNLI. It has literally changed my life.
“I’m sad to be leaving such a great crew and I want to thank my friends and colleagues for all their support during my time at the station.”
Lifeboat operations manager, Tim Hewett, said: “On behalf of the entire crew, I want to thank Nathan for his commitment and dedication throughout his 17 years at Mudeford Lifeboat Station, saving lives at sea.
“He will be sorely missed but we are delighted for Nathan and wish him every success in his new role and his career in the RNLI.”
The ‘Mudeford Servant’ Atlantic 85 lifeboat has launched 17 times this year so far and 85 times in 2023.
