A MAN has been charged and is due in court after riding a stolen pedal bike.
Dorset Traffic Cops were on late-night patrol when they discovered a man riding a bike whilst pushing another bike.
The man tried to make a getaway but was caught and arrested by the officers.
A spokesperson for Dorset Traffic Cops said: “At 1.20am on Saturday 13 April 2024, C Squad interceptors were on patrol when they noticed a man riding a bike while pushing another in Poole.
“It is reported that he tried to avoid officers but was subsequently stopped and searched.
“Following enquiries, it was found that one of the bikes was reportedly stolen a few hours beforehand.
“An 18-year-old man of no fixed abode was later charged with the theft of a pedal cycle and is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Monday 17 June 2024.”
