A RAPE investigation into an incident at a Boscombe car park has been closed.
The victim, a woman in her 20s, was allegedly raped at the Sovereign shopping centre car park in the early hours of August 31.
Police officers arrested a man, 37, on suspicion of rape following the incident off Christchurch Road.
Officers taped off a section of the car park throughout day while crime scene investigators forensically examined the area.
But now Dorset Police has said the man was released from the investigation without charge late last year.
A spokesman said: “Following a detailed investigation and thorough review of all the available evidence, the arrested man was released from police bail without charge on 28 November 2023.
“The victim has been updated and our investigation has now concluded.”
At the time, police revealed the man and woman at the centre of the investigation are known to each other.
