SWANAGE Town & Herston’s staggering record without a 0-0 scoreline in Dorset Premier League ended at 135 matches with a stalemate against Holt United.

The goalless clash at Petersham Lane was Swans’ first since their home draw against Bridport reserves in the 2014-15 season.

Tim Brown’s men started brightly against Holt and had opportunities to take the lead.

Joe Clark and Aaron Atkinson went close before Elliot Parslowe hit the crossbar from long range, while Swans keeper James Langdon had to be at his best to keep Holt out at the other end.

The hosts started to take control of the match as the half progressed but produced very little to trouble Swanage.

In the second half, the match deteriorated into a scrappy affair with no notable chances until the closing stages.

Atkinson failed to convert from a one-on-one with the goalkeeper and Holt failed to net a header from a good position. The draw left Swanage 10th with 35 points.

Elsewhere, Nick Bennett slotted twice for Wareham Rangers in a 5-2 reverse at Bridport reserves.

Corfe Castle suffered a 3-0 home defeat against Gillingham Town. Wareham prop up the table on 13 points, while Corfe sit 15th on 17 points.

This Saturday, Swans host Balti Sports, Corfe welcome Sturminster Newton and Wareham travel to Gillingham.
